August 31, 2010 - Andrew Lamont collects third GGAFL MVP award

The 2010 GGAFL MVP award presented to Andrew Lamont at the post Grand Final Gala was Andrew's third season MVP award in the past five years.

Andrew joined the league as a fit young rookie in the 2004 season and showed great promise.

August 29, 2010 - Oakland - 2010 Premiers
In a game that was closer than the scores suggest the Oakland Pirates prevailed by 29 points to become GGAFL Premiers for 2010.

August 24, 2010 - Hornet's sting is no match for the Pirate's sword

After a disappointing loss by the Oakland Pirates the last time they played the San Jose Hornets the Pirates were eager to bring their "A" game to compete against the Hornets in the Semi Final for the 2010 GGAFL season.

August 22, 2010 - Oakland to take on Marin in Grand Final
GGAFL 2010 Preliminary Final - With a convincing win on Saturday against the San Jose Hornets, the Oakland Pirates force their way into the 2010 Grand Final (Superbowl for our American audience).

The Hornets have battled hard all season for their wins and had a great first quarter.

August 18, 2010 - Golf Day Round Up
The inaugural GGAFL golf day fundraiser was held last Sunday August 15th and by all accounts it was a great day with plenty of laughs, beer and golf to go around.

August 5, 2010 - GGAFL Well Represented in USA vs Canada

The USA Under 23 team beat Canada on the weekend.

What a great day for representatives from the GGAFL, a first win for Matt Bishop as coach and Saleh Tyebje and Kyle Johnson named in the best for the USA under 23's.

August 2, 2010 - Hornets Torpedo Pirates

Footy returned to Concord this week with the sun shining and the ground in impeccable condition. The top of the ladder Oakland Pirates took on the ever improving San Jose Hornets. The pirates were short a couple of their star players who were kitting up for the Revo's squad, along with coach Matt Bishop.

July 25, 2010 - Golden Gate Roos Beat San Diego
On a cool, windy day in Daly City San Diego won the toss and decided to kick against the breeze. This paid dividends for them almost immediately with the Lions kicking two quick goals via John Jones and Justin Valley to establish an early lead.

June 29, 2010 - Oakland move to top of ladder
The Oakland Pirates beat the Marin Mavericks by a large margin on Saturday and moved to the top of the ladder.

In a somewhat one sided game where Oakland looked disciplined and used the ball well, the margin was large enough to gain the percentage needed to step to the top of the GGAFL 2010 ladder.

May 18, 2010 - GGAFL Players named in Revolution Squads

Three GGAFL Players have been named in the recently announced Revolution Squads to play the Canadian Northwind teams in Toronto at the end of July.

The GGAFL congratulates Mel Chen for making the open Revolution Squad and Nathan Minshew along with Saleh Tyebjee for making the Under 23 Squad.

The Rest of the World team were far too good for the Aussies in the GGAFL 2010 ANZAC Cup and peppered the goals like the machine guns at Gallipoli, running away with the match.
